Caddisfly Babies

Once upon a time, I watched wide-eyed through a scope as baby caddisflies emerged from their egg case.  Maybe only 5 mm long…   I mean, 5 mm long of absolute cuteness.  Their first order of business?  To create cases for themselves out of the grains of sand that surrounded them.  I wish I had thought to film them as they created their masterpieces. You go, you smart little caddisflies! herbs herbs
